SNDK Stock Futures: SanDisk at 7.5x Earnings Before Oct. 29
SNDK stock futures are pricing one question: whether SanDisk's earnings are at their peak. SanDisk (NASDAQ: SNDK) closed at $1,609.46 on Oct. 8, 2026, down 4.90% on the day and 32% below its June 22 high of $2,354.39, yet it trades at about 7.5 times forward earnings. The SNDKUSDT perpetual on WEEX was at $1,649.45 at about 07:12 UTC on Oct. 9, 2.5% above that close.
The next earnings report is confirmed for Oct. 29. This piece covers why the stock fell this week, what a 7.5x multiple is saying, how the SNDK perpetual is trading on WEEX, and what to watch into the report.
Why SanDisk Stock Fell 5.6% This Week
SNDK closed at $1,704.16 on Oct. 5 and $1,609.46 on Oct. 8, a 5.6% drop in three sessions. None of the news was about SanDisk itself. All of it was about whether memory demand and pricing have peaked.
- Oct. 6, down 2.56% to $1,660.46. Chip stocks sold off in Seoul and reports of delays at U.S. data-center projects hit the whole memory group.
- Oct. 7, up 1.92% to $1,692.42. The stock bounced even as the weekly spot price for 512Gb TLC NAND wafers slipped 2.9%.
- Oct. 8, down 4.90% to $1,609.46. Samsung's preliminary third-quarter operating profit of about 107.4 trillion won came in under one widely cited consensus of 112.7 trillion won. The same day, OpenAI's annualized revenue was confirmed at $50 billion, not the $68 billion previously reported, which fed doubts about AI spending.
Micron added a supply worry a week earlier. It reported record fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23 billion on Sept. 30 and guided the next quarter to about $61.5 billion, then said it plans to raise capital spending in fiscal 2027.
SanDisk Valuation: A 7.5x Multiple Is a Bet Against the Cycle
A forward price-to-earnings ratio of 7.49 on a company growing this fast means the market does not believe the earnings will last. Micron trades at 5.88 times for the same reason.
The earnings themselves are not in dispute. In fiscal Q4 2026, the quarter ended July 3 and reported on Aug. 5, SanDisk posted:
- Revenue of $8.97 billion, up 51% from the prior quarter and 372% from a year earlier
- Non-GAAP EPS of $39.25
- Non-GAAP gross margin of 84.6%
- Datacenter revenue of $2.98 billion, up 103% sequentially
About two-thirds of that sequential revenue growth came from higher prices and one-third from volume. That split is the bull case and the bear case in one sentence.
Guidance for fiscal Q1 2027 calls for revenue of $10.30 billion to $10.80 billion, which is 15% to 20% above the prior quarter, a non-GAAP gross margin of 83% to 85%, and non-GAAP EPS of $44 to $46.
The pricing data explains the nerves. TrendForce's NAND contract prices rose 55% to 60% quarter over quarter in the first quarter of 2026 and 70% to 75% in the second. The third quarter slowed to 10% to 15%, and the fourth-quarter forecast is 15% to 20%, with enterprise SSDs the only category still accelerating. Prices are still rising. The rate of increase has fallen by about three-quarters from the spring peak.

What supports the bulls:
- About $94 billion of contracted revenue, covering more than half of fiscal 2027 bit supply
- Ten long-term supply agreements with customers, five of them signed since April
- An additional $14 billion buyback authorization
What supports the bears:
- Roughly a third of volume is still exposed to spot prices, which fell this week
- China's YMTC holds about 14% bit share and plans to raise production 2.5 times
- PC and smartphone makers are running down inventory
Analysts lean heavily one way. Of 25 covering the stock, 21 rate it a buy or strong buy, with an average price target of $2,173, about 35% above the last close. The range runs from $1,000 to $3,600, which says more about the uncertainty than the average does. Mizuho raised its target to $2,050 from $1,875 on Oct. 6.
The number to watch on Oct. 29 is the gross margin guide. A range that holds at 83% or above says contract pricing is intact. A guide below that says pricing has rolled over, and a 7.5x multiple will not look cheap.
SNDK Futures on WEEX: The Busiest Stock Perpetual We Checked
The SNDKUSDT perpetual on WEEX showed the following at about 07:12 UTC on Oct. 9, 2026:
- Last price: $1,649.45, down 2.05% in 24 hours
- 24-hour high and low: $1,684.12 and $1,586.17, a range of 6.2%
- 24-hour volume: 38.0 million USDT
- Funding rate: +0.000102%, effectively flat
That volume was 2.5 times the Micron perpetual's 15.2 million USDT at the same moment, 25 times the SpaceX perpetual's and 78 times the Nvidia perpetual's. Of the stock contracts checked, SNDK was the most traded by a wide margin.
Two features of this market are easy to misread.
The premium to the cash close is not free money. The perpetual trades while Nasdaq is closed, so its 2.5% premium over Thursday's $1,609.46 close reflects what happened overnight, including a rebound in risk assets. The gap closes at the 9:30 a.m. ET open by one price moving to the other. It is not an arbitrage, because the stock cannot be bought at the old close.
The perpetual keeps moving when the stock is shut. Its 24-hour low of $1,586.17 was 1.4% below the cash close. Stops on a stock perpetual can trigger overnight, at hours when the underlying shares are not trading at all.
Flat funding means neither side is crowded. For exposure without leverage, SNDK/USDT spot is listed in the WEEX stocks section.

What to Watch Into the Oct. 29 Earnings Report
SanDisk reports fiscal Q1 2027 results on Oct. 29, with the call at 1:30 p.m. PT. The Fed decision lands the day before.
The real bar is the guidance, not the published consensus. MarketBeat's consensus EPS of $41.45 sits below the company's own $44 to $46 range, so a result that beats consensus and misses the guidance midpoint of $45 would still disappoint.
The last time options were priced ahead of a SanDisk report, in August, the implied move was 15.6%. Applied to the current perpetual price, that is about $258 either way, a range of roughly $1,392 to $1,907. The October figure will differ, but the scale is the point. At 5x leverage, a 15.6% move against a position is 78% of its margin. At 7x, the margin is gone.
Between now and then, weekly NAND spot prices and any further peer commentary are the inputs most likely to move the stock.

FAQ
1. When does SanDisk report earnings?
SanDisk reports fiscal first-quarter 2027 results on Oct. 29, 2026, with a conference call at 1:30 p.m. PT. Its guidance is revenue of $10.30 billion to $10.80 billion and non-GAAP EPS of $44 to $46.
2. Why is SNDK's P/E ratio so low?
Investors expect memory prices, and therefore earnings, to fall from current levels. SNDK traded at 7.49 times forward earnings as of the Oct. 8 close, and Micron at 5.88 times. Low multiples at peak earnings are typical of cyclical chip stocks.
3. Has SanDisk announced a stock split?
No. As of Oct. 9, 2026, SanDisk has not announced a split, despite a share price above $1,600.
4. Why is the SNDK perpetual price different from the stock's closing price?
The perpetual trades around the clock, including when Nasdaq is closed, so it moves on overnight news. On Oct. 9 it was about 2.5% above the Oct. 8 close of $1,609.46. The two prices converge when the stock reopens.
