Balancer Community Votes to Approve Orderly Shutdown Proposal, Liquidity Pools to Operate Until October 30
Balancer has officially announced that BAL holders have voted to approve the orderly shutdown proposal BIP-928, while the fork proposal BIP-929 was not approved. The liquidity pools will continue to operate as usual until October 30, during which the withdrawal function will remain open. Key dates: October 16 is the deadline for partners to apply for the extension of the designated V3 pool to operate until November 30. Starting from October 30, the fund pools will be converted to support only withdrawals, subject to contract allowances, and the bug bounty program will end simultaneously. The V3 Vault will be paused on November 30. BAL holders do not need to take any action and are expected to be able to burn BAL starting from the end of May 2027, receiving vault assets proportionally; tetuBAL holders will receive BAL equivalent to 50% of their locked assets.
