BAYC Co-founder Responds to NFT Controversy, Claims Copycat Projects Are the Real Issue
NFT whale Pranksy posted on X platform stating that "BAYC has ruined NFTs," arguing that projects like BAYC have overshadowed the technology behind NFTs, leading the public to equate NFTs with "monkey projects" and resulting in a surge of copycat projects. BAYC co-founder Greg Solano responded, pointing out that Pranksy had sold BAYC assets that could have been worth $500 million for millions of dollars and continues to promote multiple "knockoff projects." He mentioned that Pranksy had founded several NFT-related companies, but these projects have now been removed from his profile. Greg Solano also stated, "Be the change you wish to see, or enjoy the wealth that BAYC brings."
