Circle CPTO Nikhil Chandhok on Arc chain rollback uncertainty after USDC hack
Circle Chief Product and Technology Officer Nikhil Chandhok stated that he could not confirm whether the Arc chain would be rolled back following the theft of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of USDC. He refrained from speculating on Circle's response to a potential hack of a major lending protocol like AAVE, which could result in significant USDC losses on the Arc chain. Chandhok described Arc as a tamper-resistant public blockchain supported by over 20 validators, warning that breaking its immutability could severely damage trust. He emphasized that Circle has no intention of rolling back the chain for any reason and declined to speculate on responses without knowing the specifics of a security incident.
