Divergence in BTC and ETH Exchange Inventories, Acceleration of ETH Outflows from CEX
Leon Waidmann, Head of Business Development at Lisk, stated that the supply trends of BTC and ETH on exchanges are diverging sharply. The exchange supply ratio of BTC is 16.5%, while ETH has dropped below 12.7%, with a gap of nearly 4 percentage points. The supply of BTC on exchanges remains relatively stable, whereas ETH is continuously flowing out of exchanges, leading to a structural tightening of liquidity supply for ETH on exchanges.

No sale has been confirmed. On October 8, 2026, US government-linked wallets moved 12,267 BTC, worth about $1.01 billion, out of a wallet holding funds seized in the 2016 Bitfinex hack, to new unlabeled addresses with no exchange deposit recorded.
