Elliptic Launches AI Tool Pulse for Police to Analyze Crypto Wallets
Elliptic has launched an AI product named Pulse, enabling police officers to quickly interpret cryptocurrency without blockchain expertise. Officers can input a wallet address or transaction hash and receive a financial summary in seconds. This tool assists frontline personnel in determining whether a case requires escalation, whether crypto appears on a suspect's phone, in a scam victim's receipt, or during various law enforcement scenarios. If further investigation is needed, officers can forward the full analysis, including reasoning and field notes, into Elliptic's forensic tools or their agency's workflow. Elliptic's CTO, Jackson Hull, stated that Pulse addresses the growing presence of crypto in law enforcement beyond specialized units. The tool utilizes the same intelligence as Elliptic's existing platform, which screens over 99% of crypto trading volume across 65 blockchains. The launch aligns with Elliptic's recent governance framework for agentic AI, emphasizing human oversight and transparency. Earlier this year, Elliptic raised 120 million dollars from investors including Nasdaq and Deutsche Bank, contributing to its involvement in significant enforcement actions.

Indexes were mixed on October 8 ET. The long-bond yield touched about 5.35% intraday, near levels last seen in 2002. OpenAI’s annualized revenue of about $50 billion came in below higher figures that had circulated, pressuring tech and chip names. Nasdaq fell clearly, while Dow edged higher. Energy led, with WTI up about 3.2% to about $91. Bitcoin pulled back from about $86,000 and traded near $81,000, down about 5%. September PPI is the focus on October 9.
