Energy Headquarters Assesses Gas and Electricity Balance
On August 10, the Energy Headquarters reviewed the projected balance of gas and electricity considering various scenarios for the winter period. Prime Minister Sergey Koretsky reported that presentations were made by Energy Minister Denis Shmyhal and leaders of key energy companies, including Naftogaz and Ukrenergo. The discussions included repair works at generation facilities and the construction of protective structures. Koretsky emphasized the importance of protecting critical infrastructure and creating reserves of fuel and equipment for rapid recovery. Participants identified directions to accelerate work in the context of intense Russian shelling. Following the meeting, directives were issued, with oversight for their implementation assigned to the Ministry of Energy. As of August 1, preparations for the heating season have been completed in 83,553 residential buildings in Ukraine, which accounts for nearly 60% of the planned total.
