Ethereum Node Synchronization Time Reduced to Half a Day, Disk Usage Below 0.5TB
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated on the X platform that Ethereum nodes can now complete synchronization within half a day, and with a more aggressive configuration, disk usage can be kept below 0.5TB. The continuous optimization of Snap Sync by EIP-4444 and various client teams has significantly improved the node operation experience, and the Glamsterdam upgrade will further enhance synchronization efficiency. Vitalik mentioned that users can point their wallet RPC to local nodes, but they need to configure the RPC functionality correctly; some browser DApps may not effectively use local RPC, while others hard-code RPC to their own servers. He prefers to avoid browser DApps and instead use command-line operations, having already updated ENS records through a Python script connected to a local node. The next step, kohaku-cli, will further integrate privacy protocols, with early development work already underway.
