Hyperliquid co-founder and CEO Jeff Yan stated that Hyperliquid is more akin to public infrastructure, such as the internet or Linux, rather than a cryptocurrency exchange. Yan emphasized that it is inaccurate to classify Hyperliquid as a major crypto exchange or compare it to platforms like CME or Nasdaq. He noted that the project is pioneering in its approach, making it challenging to find suitable comparisons. Yan highlighted the need for a single neutral system instead of multiple systems performing the same function. He also mentioned that the community's objective is not to replace a specific target but to enhance user services and functionality through public infrastructure.
