Inflation expectations fall to 29.8% annually in September

National inflation projections stood at 29.8% in September for the next twelve months, representing a decrease of 5.9 percentage points compared to 35.7% in August. The expected inflation for the next 30 days averaged 3.49% with a median of 3%, showing a slight decline of 0.06 percentage points compared to the previous month. The study, conducted between September 1 and 9, 2026, included a representative sample of 1,000 cases nationwide. The slowdown was reflected in all three regions: in Greater Buenos Aires, the average dropped from 39.1% to 30.8%; in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, it fell from 37.4% to 32.3%; and in the Interior, it decreased from 33.9% to 28.9%. In lower-income households, the expected inflation over twelve months decreased from 41.5% to 29.5%, while in higher-income households it fell from 33.1% to 29.9%. The research indicates that expectations have become more aligned across different social strata.
