Musk Shares Katzenberg's Long Post, Claims AI Will Not Replace Creativity
Musk shared a lengthy post by Jeffrey Katzenberg, co-founder of DreamWorks, on the X platform regarding AI and the creative industry. Katzenberg stated that AI is significantly reducing the time and cost of animation production, but currently, AI is mainly skilled in reasoning, evaluation, and optimization, which differs from true creativity that relies on human taste, intuition, empathy, and expressive intent. He believes that AI will not disappear, and Hollywood needs to accept this reality. At the same time, AI developers should collaborate with creators to use their works and ideas based on obtaining authorization, giving credit, and providing reasonable compensation. Katzenberg anticipates that as AI lowers production barriers and costs, more films and new narrative forms will emerge in the future.
