NVIDIA's Market Value Increases by $442 Billion, Setting the Second Highest Single-Day Gain Record
On August 28, NVIDIA (NVDA.O) saw its market value increase by $442 billion, marking the second highest single-day gain for a stock, with its share price rising by 8.7%, the largest increase since April 2025. This market value growth is only surpassed by Microsoft's $450 billion single-day increase a month ago. The surge was driven by NVIDIA's strong earnings guidance, which alleviated investors' concerns about a slowdown in artificial intelligence growth momentum, indicating that AI growth remains robust. Analysts noted that NVIDIA's earnings guidance suggests there is still over $100 billion of potential upside in market expectations. JPMorgan stated that although the earnings outlook exceeded expectations, it may still be conservative, as the company indicated that the current outlook is constrained by supply limitations, and demand growth would be significantly higher if supply were unconstrained.
