Saylor Proposes Funding for 10 Million Companies with Digital Tokens
Michael Saylor, Chairman of Strategy, argued that an environment should be created where up to 10 million new companies can easily raise funds using digital tokens. He emphasized that as artificial intelligence (AI) lowers product development and startup costs, the methods for corporate financing should also be faster and cheaper than traditional securities issuance. In his "Prescription for the Prosperity of the Digital Economy," Saylor stated that the rights to create, issue, store, transfer, and use digital assets must be guaranteed for individuals and businesses. He explained that while advancements in AI allow small organizations to create products and services with fewer personnel and costs, it becomes difficult to leverage productivity improvements if the funding process is slow and expensive. He proposed that companies should be able to raise funds according to regulations through digital tokens, and that legal and intermediary costs arising from traditional securities issuance should be reduced. Saylor stressed that it is not about eliminating regulations, but rather about clarifying issuance conditions, disclosing necessary information to investors, and protecting asset ownership. He also mentioned that this is related to the SEC's ongoing reform of the digital asset funding system, where the SEC has proposed an exemption process for the registration of securities related to certain digital asset investment contracts. Saylor asserted that capital markets must also evolve in the age of AI.
