Successful Conclusion of GMA AI & Gaming Nexus Singapore: Focusing on the Future of AI and Gaming
On October 6, the AI & Gaming Nexus, co-hosted by Game Mine Alliance (GMA) and TechFlow, took place in Singapore. The event gathered professionals from AI, gaming, Web3, investment, and entrepreneurship to discuss "How AI is Changing Game Production, Experience, and Business Models." The summit saw over 600 online registrations and received support from various organizations including PumpSnake, the9bit, 0G, Waterdrip Capital, IOSG, AZverse, Miuro.AI, Cddjap, Bifire investment, as well as media partners such as Foresight News, Deep Tide, and PANews.
GMA is positioned as a DAO organization in the Web3 gaming and AI sectors, continuously deepening its involvement in the gaming ecosystem and engaging in various levels of collaboration with quality games and upstream and downstream projects.
The discussions focused on "Game Investment in the AI Era After the Bubble Bursts" and "Survival Strategies for Projects in the AI Era." From investment logic, product experience to community and economic models, a common judgment was reached: AI is significantly lowering the barriers to game development and content production, but the real competition in gaming still revolves around playability, user retention, distribution efficiency, and long-term relationships.
Game Investment Returns to Fundamentals After the Bubble Bursts
In past market cycles, Web3 games rapidly heated up due to strong narratives, token mechanisms, and high valuations, but many projects failed to deliver viable products and commercialization. During the discussions, several guests mentioned that the market's enthusiasm for "AI + Gaming" cannot replace answers to fundamental questions: What value does the product create for users? Are users willing to continue using it? Can the project establish a sustainable source of income?
The most direct impact of AI is cost reduction. Tasks that previously required dozens of people can now potentially be completed by smaller teams with the help of AI. However, an increase in supply does not necessarily mean a corresponding increase in demand. Players still have limited time each day, and attention remains scarce.
Therefore, in the AI era, the focus of competition for game projects is shifting from "Can it be made?" to "Is it worth playing continuously?" Gameplay, retention, community, distribution, and dissemination capabilities are becoming more important criteria for judgment.
AI is Not Just a Tool, It May Become a New Character in Games
In the roundtable discussion on "Survival Strategies for Projects in the AI Era," the conversation extended from production efficiency to the experience and economic relationships within games themselves.
In the future, AI NPCs may no longer just act according to fixed scripts but could become game participants who can interact, collaborate, and even grow alongside players over the long term. Players training their own AI characters, empowering them, and allowing them to participate in tasks, events, or economic activities in the game may also become a new direction for gameplay.
Such changes imply that players' identities may no longer be limited to consumers. Through the combination of AI and Web3, players may simultaneously engage in creation, production, community collaboration, and value distribution. The assets, time investment, and community relationships within games also have the opportunity to achieve longer-term connections.
Moving from "Content Overload" to "Relationship Scarcity"
At the end of the event, the discussions from the two roundtables converged on a deeper question: When AI makes content production easier, what is truly scarce?
The answer may not be more content, but rather more valuable relationships.
For game projects, the moat is no longer just about technical capabilities; it also includes whether they can retain players, encourage creators to co-create, build trust within the community, and align business models with real needs. AI can enhance productivity but cannot automatically bring about playability, community recognition, and long-term operational capabilities.
The AI & Gaming Nexus aims to continuously connect builders, creators, and investors in the fields of AI, gaming, and Web3. In a time of rapid technological change, the gaming industry still needs to return to the most fundamental question: How to create products that people genuinely want to play, want to stay, and want to participate in together?
