The Surge of AVAX: 'Wall Street on the Chain' Becomes the New Main Line
TL;DR
The parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, ICE, has been testing Avalanche technology for about a year, focusing on evaluating its ability to support the planned tokenized securities platform, rather than just testing transaction speed.
The institutional adoption of Avalanche is expanding from exchanges to asset management, credit assets, stablecoins, and payments. Institutions or protocols such as New York Life, Janus Henderson, Aave, and Ethena have begun to enter this ecosystem.
Cases of Avalanche implementation are also emerging in the Korean and Middle Eastern markets, including securities tokenization, stablecoin pilots, digital identity, and official document verification.
These adoptions indicate that Avalanche is attempting to piece together a complete financial infrastructure from asset issuance, settlement, collateralized lending to payments. However, for AVAX holders, the most critical question remains not "how many institutions are using Avalanche," but whether these activities can ultimately translate into transaction fees, staking, validation nodes, and actual demand for AVAX.
In the past two days, Avalanche has suddenly appeared in a flurry of news related to institutional adoption.
The most noteworthy aspect is not a single partner, but rather that these collaborations are beginning to connect: tokenized stocks, bonds, credit assets, stablecoins, on-chain lending, and payments are gradually forming a closed loop around the same infrastructure.
Joseph Razo's article published on Medium on September 21, titled "Don't Count Out $AVAX. The NYSE Didn't. Neither Did Many Others," suggests that Avalanche is transitioning from a traditional "crypto public chain" to a new stage that is closer to competition in financial infrastructure.
NYSE Tests Avalanche, Focus is No Longer on TPS
This renewed market focus on Avalanche has a significant catalyst from the NYSE.
The article cites relevant news stating that the parent company of the NYSE, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), has spent about a year testing Avalanche technology to explore how blockchain can be applied to its planned tokenized securities platform.
ICE is evaluating not only the technical performance but also Avalanche's economic model, scalability, and whether it can meet the operational requirements of large financial institutions.
Meanwhile, the NYSE is developing a system to support the tokenization of U.S. stocks and ETFs.
This architecture plans to combine traditional trading infrastructure with blockchain settlement and may support stablecoin deposits, fractional trading, dividend rights, and shareholder voting rights.
In other words, this is no longer a simple discussion of "which chain is faster," but rather the traditional securities market is beginning to test whether blockchain can truly be embedded in stock trading, settlement, and asset ownership systems.
From NYSE to Asset Management Institutions, RWA Begins to Enter Avalanche
Institutional adoption is not limited to exchanges.
New York Life Investment Management is moving its HYB high-yield corporate bond strategy onto the chain through Centrifuge, allowing eligible investors to gain exposure to traditional credit assets via Avalanche infrastructure.
Asset management company Janus Henderson has further become an Avalanche validator while continuing to participate in the tokenized credit market and providing capital to Trenched.
The commonality behind these cases is that financial institutions are moving from "researching blockchain" to a more practical phase of asset issuance, credit, and infrastructure deployment.
The article suggests that this means institutional adoption of Avalanche is entering a new stage: blockchain is no longer just an experimental tool but is beginning to be included in discussions of securities, credit, settlement, and institutional capital infrastructure.
Korea, Stablecoins, and Payments: Another Adoption Main Line is Forming
Another growth main line for Avalanche comes from Asia, particularly Korea. Hanwha Investment Securities is building a tokenization platform based on Avalanche.
At the same time, local Korean won stablecoin-related projects are also researching Avalanche, hoping to connect digital currencies, payments, and tokenized assets to the same financial infrastructure.
Hyundai Card has previously completed a real-world stablecoin pilot involving Avalanche and Tether, indicating that stablecoin payments have begun to transition from proof of concept to actual testing by large financial enterprises.
The addition of Paxos provides another layer of distribution capability. The article suggests that Avalanche has integrated Paxos' infrastructure aimed at a large number of institutions and end users, providing a greater potential entry point for future stablecoins and crypto financial products.
This also allows the narrative of Avalanche to begin to extend beyond a single RWA project, moving closer to: tokenized securities + stablecoins + payments + settlement.

Avalanche is Also Trying to Enter Government Digital Infrastructure
Beyond finance, Avalanche is also expanding into digital identity and trusted data fields.
The blockchain infrastructure behind the UAE Pass Digital Vault is introducing Avalanche technology to help users securely access, share, and verify official documents.
Its application scenarios include bank account opening, business registration, school enrollment, visa applications, government benefits, public utility services, and vehicle ownership transfers. The core logic is to verify the authenticity and integrity of documents through blockchain, reducing the need for different institutions to repeatedly review the same materials.
Kenya is anchoring educational qualification information to Avalanche to establish a more tamper-proof credential verification system.
Additionally, Avalanche has established a partnership with FIFA. The article views these cases as part of the same trend: Avalanche is attempting to extend from the financial market to digital identity, educational credentials, and government-level trusted data infrastructure.
What Truly Matters is a Financial System is Being Pieced Together
If we look at these projects individually, they can easily become a string of collaboration news. However, if we reorganize them according to the structure of the financial system, we find that they are forming a more complete chain.
Tokenized stocks, bonds, funds, government bonds, and credit assets constitute the asset layer.
Aave has launched a dedicated RWA Hub on Avalanche, allowing institutions to use these assets as collateral to gain stablecoin liquidity without selling the underlying assets. Ethena Pay provides another piece of the puzzle. Ethena previously announced the launch of a global Neobank built on Avalanche, enabling users to save, transfer, and use digital dollars directly on Avalanche.
As a result, Avalanche is beginning to see: asset issuance → on-chain collateral → stablecoin liquidity → daily payments.
From this perspective, what Avalanche is trying to compete for is no longer just "public chain market share," but a financial operating system capable of carrying real financial assets and capital flows.
But Institutional Adoption Does Not Mean AVAX Will Definitely Benefit
However, this is also the most noteworthy point of the entire article. Whether it is the NYSE testing Avalanche, or asset management institutions, stablecoins, and RWA projects entering the ecosystem, it can only prove that Avalanche technology is gaining more adoption. But this is still a different question from whether the AVAX Token itself can capture value.
What ultimately needs to be observed is:
· Will these financial activities lead to more on-chain transactions and fees;
· Do institutions need to hold or stake AVAX;
· Will the number of validation nodes and network security demands continue to increase;
· And will new applications truly bring long-term, measurable demand for AVAX?
The article also points out that for AVAX holders, institutional adoption only has long-term value if it can translate into transaction fees, staking, validator participation, and trading demand flowing back into the Token economic system.
Therefore, the narrative of Avalanche that is truly worth paying attention to may not be "a few more large institutional collaborations."
The more important question is: if Wall Street really starts to move stocks, credit assets, stablecoins, and settlements onto Avalanche, can AVAX evolve from a used chain into an asset that can capture this usage value?
This ultimately determines whether this round of institutional adoption is a new narrative market or the beginning of a real change in Avalanche's valuation logic.
