Three Months of No Returns in AI Sector Trading, DRAM Prices Rise
Trading in the AI sector has been in a "dead money" state for over three months, with tracked token expenditures and GPU rental rates remaining flat or declining, while only memory (DRAM) prices continue to rise. Jurrien Timmer, Global Macro Director at Fidelity Investments, stated that AI will fundamentally change lives in the long term, potentially unleashing a productivity miracle and raising the non-inflationary speed limit of the economy, while maintaining sustainable levels of global debt. However, current construction is inflationary, and the returns on trillions of dollars in computing power investments remain uncertain, with corporate equity and debt capital demands growing at a rate of $3.3 trillion.
