AI startup Anthropic has disclosed in its confidential IPO filing that it has signed an agreement with SpaceX to pay up to $84.5 billion by 2029 for access to AI computing resources based on Nvidia chips provided by SpaceX. The agreement can largely be terminated with a 90-day notice. This amount is significantly higher than the scale previously disclosed by SpaceX. In May of this year, Anthropic announced it had reached a computing power leasing agreement with SpaceX. SpaceX's earlier filing for its IPO indicated that Anthropic agreed to pay $1.25 billion per month, with a contract term of up to approximately three years, totaling nearly $45 billion, and also includes a 90-day cancellation clause.
