Ethereum Releases EIP Draft Suggesting Hardware and Bandwidth Specifications

The Ethereum community has released an EIP draft titled "Hardware and Bandwidth Recommendations," which suggests baseline specifications for full nodes, Attester validators, and local block builders. It is recommended to run both execution layer and consensus layer clients on the same machine, with storage requirements of 4 TB NVMe SSD. The recommended configuration for validators includes 64 GB RAM and a more powerful CPU (8 cores / 16 threads, approximately 3500 for single-threaded and about 25000 PassMark for multi-threaded) to reduce instability. Bandwidth is differentiated by role, with local block builders having a maximum of 100/50 Mbps, Attesters at 50/25 Mbps, and full nodes at 50/15 Mbps. The latter two have lower bandwidth but carry latency risks.
