Options on individual stocks are trading at about 700 billion dollars daily, nearing 2021 levels. Bitcoin (BTC) previously doubled from approximately 29000 dollars to nearly 65000 dollars during an options boom, but has not replicated that surge this time. Retail investor sentiment is currently comparable to 2021, with 40.3% of surveyed investors expecting higher stock prices within six months. Bitcoin's price is just under 84000 dollars, while U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) experienced 65.40 million dollars in net outflows on October 12, primarily due to BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). Bitcoin ETF inflows totaled about 232 million dollars over 13 sessions through October 9. Ethereum (ETH) spot ETFs also faced losses, with 85.39 million dollars in outflows, marking a 10-day streak. Analysts note that retail flows in 2026 are focusing on a few stocks, while cautious investors remain in equities. Historically, retail trading rebounds in October after summer slowdowns, which could influence Bitcoin's performance.
