Four Argentine provinces increase their export contribution in the first half of 2026
During the first half of 2026, four Argentine provinces showed a notable increase in their exports, driven by the growth of energy and mining sales. Patagonia stood out, increasing its share in foreign trade from 14.6% to 17.8%. Neuquén and Santa Cruz were the main beneficiaries, with Neuquén rising from 5.5% to 8.7% thanks to oil, which accounted for 90.7% of its exports, and Santa Cruz increasing from 3.1% to 4.3% due to precious metals, which constituted 75.2% of its shipments. In contrast, the Pampas region saw a decrease in its weight, with Buenos Aires falling from 36.1% to 32.2% and Córdoba from 12.5% to 11.3%. Santa Fe and Jujuy also increased their participation, with Santa Fe boosting its exports by nearly 30%, from 17.5% to 18.9%, and Jujuy climbing from 1.2% to 2%, driven by lithium, which grew by 186.3% to reach 1.126 billion dollars. The Northwest of Argentina came to represent 6.5% of total exports, while Cuyo and the Northeast lost weight.

No sale has been confirmed. On October 8, 2026, US government-linked wallets moved 12,267 BTC, worth about $1.01 billion, out of a wallet holding funds seized in the 2016 Bitfinex hack, to new unlabeled addresses with no exchange deposit recorded. On-chain data shows movement, not intent, and no US agency has explained the transfers.

The Bitcoin price briefly fell below $81,000 on October 9, 2026, its lowest level in nearly three weeks, after repeated failures near $87,000. A bond selloff, weaker tech stocks, spot ETF outflows and a long liquidation wave all added pressure. The $80,000 area is now the key support, while $83,000 is the first level bulls need to reclaim.
