Gold Surpasses $4436.50, Dollar Falls 0.4%
Gold recorded a 1.1% increase, reaching $4436.50 per ounce. The decline of the global dollar and the drop in U.S. Treasury bond yields have affected market expectations regarding the Federal Reserve's monetary policy. The market is awaiting the U.S. non-farm payroll report to be released this Friday, which is crucial for determining the direction of monetary policy. In the foreign exchange market, the Japanese yen advanced alongside the dollar's retreat, amid speculation about a possible currency intervention by Japan. Gold futures rose 2.7% to $4534.61. Silver also increased by 0.9% to $65.94 per ounce. The U.S. Dollar Index fell 0.4% to 99.21. The president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, John Williams, indicated that inflation in the U.S. is moderating and that rising energy prices are not spreading to other services. In August, U.S. private companies created 38,000 jobs, according to the monthly ADP report, providing new insights into the labor market.
