Consensys Founder Claims MetaMask Wallet Unaffected by Infrastructure Incident
Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum and founder and CEO of Consensys, stated that investigations show the MetaMask wallet and customer funds were not affected by the infrastructure incident. The mnemonic phrases, private keys, and wallet assets were not involved in this incident, as they are self-custodied by users. The team has not publicly discussed the details of the incident but has disclosed and addressed the issue with partners and stakeholders. As a precaution, they have rotated validator keys with partners, requiring relevant validators to exit the staking queue before re-entering.
