South Korea's Five Major Commercial Banks Targeted by AI-Driven Hacking, Customer Data Breached at Three Banks
The five major commercial banks in South Korea have reportedly fallen victim to suspected AI-driven hacking attacks, resulting in customer data breaches at three of the banks. This marks the first instance of all five major banks in South Korea experiencing such attacks simultaneously. BNK Busan Bank suffered a data leak involving personal information of 11 outsourced employees; KB Kookmin Bank had information of 119 customers compromised, and Hana Bank confirmed that information of 89 customers was also leaked.
