Robert Kiyosaki Announces "The Biggest Crash in History": What About Bitcoin?
"Wolf! Wolf!" cried the young shepherd in Aesop's fable, long before the wolf was real. Robert Kiyosaki is at it again. You may have seen it on X in recent days. On September 15, 2026, the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad published a definitive text: "the biggest crash in history" has supposedly begun in Europe and Japan before spreading to the rest of the world. This is not exactly a first for someone who has been promising this scenario for two decades, as we recalled when he predicted a Bitcoin price of $750,000 after a historic crash. This time, his survival recipe has a specific name: gold, silver, and Bitcoin. Key points of this article:
- Robert Kiyosaki recently claimed that "the biggest crash in history" started in Europe and Japan.
- His post on September 15 on X mentioned concerning factors such as the frenzy around artificial intelligence, a war in Iran, and excessive global debt.
Robert Kiyosaki and His "Historic" Crash: What His Post on X Really Says
Robert Kiyosaki reminds us that he published a book in 2002 with a straightforward title, Rich Dad's Prophecy (never translated into French, in line with Rich Dad Poor Dad), intended to prepare his readers to benefit from the biggest stock and bond market crash in history. Twenty-four years later, the prophecy is coming true, according to him. Nothing new on the surface.
His post on September 15 on X lists the frenzy surrounding artificial intelligence, the war in Iran, excessive debt, and a generation of baby boomers retiring at the same time. The cocktail would particularly target holders of American retirement plans, the 401(k) (the equivalent of a corporate retirement savings plan) and the IRA (its individual counterpart), with a special warning for those over 40.
His reference remains the Great Depression from 1929 to 1954, which he stretches over twenty-five years. He cites the Kennedy family as an example of successful preparation. The remedy, according to him, lies in a handful of assets: rental income, oil wells, a personal business, and a shift from cash to gold, silver, and Bitcoin. He even recommends reading The Entropy Trap by Mickey Maini. The book, very real, applies the laws of thermodynamics to financial markets.
"THE BIGGEST CRASH IN HISTORY has started. In 2002, I published RICH DAD'S PROPHECY. This book was written to prepare people to profit and not be victims of the biggest stock and bond market crash in history... a crash that was still to come. In 2026, that crash started, in Europe...
Robert Kiyosaki, post on X, September 15, 2026 BIGGEST CRASH IN HISTORY has started.
In 2002 I released RICH DADS PROPHECY. This book was written to prepare people to profit and not be victims of the biggest stock and bond market crash in history.... a crash that was still coming.
In 2026, that crash started, in Europe...

Japanese Rates, Global Debt, War in Iran: The Real Ground for the Crash
The post does not come out of nowhere, even if it anticipates events by several days. On September 18, three days after Robert Kiyosaki's publication, the Bank of Japan raised its rates to 1.25%, its highest level since 1995, to combat inflation. Major European stock exchanges then opened lower. Japanese bond yields had reached 3% as early as September 1, a high since October 1996, before sliding to 2.98% after the BoJ's decision.
Comparable tensions affect Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. Add to that a global public debt that reached 94% of GDP in 2025 according to the IMF, with a projected trajectory towards 100% by 2029. A war also broke out in Iran this year, the aftershocks of which are still being felt in the global economy.
The ground is slippery. No one denies it. Except that a slippery ground is nothing like a historic crash. Even less so the greatest in history.
Robert Kiyosaki's Record: Ten Years of Crying Wolf, and the Fragile Bitcoin Bet
That's the theory. In practice, Robert Kiyosaki's history resembles that of a young shepherd more than that of an oracle. In 2015, he predicted a crash for 2016: the S&P 500 (the index that groups the 500 largest publicly traded companies in the United States) rose by 9.5% that year. In the midst of the pandemic in April 2020, he promised a worsening of the collapse. The index jumped by 53.3% in the following twelve months.
Again in September 2021 with a promised "giant crash" for October: it never happened. Then in September 2022 with an "everything crash" supposed to take down stocks, real estate, and cryptos. This "everything crash" did not occur as such, although 2022 was indeed a bearish year for stocks and cryptos, with the S&P 500 down about 18% for the year. The latest episode, in August 2024: "the stock market crash has arrived," he was already saying. The S&P 500 has since made significant gains.
On one specific point, however, Robert Kiyosaki is right to call for caution. Bitcoin was trading in mid-September between $75,000 and $77,000, after a sharp rise during August. However, it remained below its January level. The hedge he touts is therefore, for now, nothing like an infallible bulwark. This will likely not prevent him from starting again next year with another book.
A man can repeat the same prophecy for twenty-four years without ever tiring his audience, apparently. The Journal du Coin already described two years ago Robert Kiyosaki's trio of gold, silver, and Bitcoin, already promoted regardless of market conditions. The strategy has not budged an inch. What has changed this time is the very real tension on Japanese and European rates, while this new post accumulated 2.72 million views.

The Bitcoin price briefly fell below $81,000 on October 9, 2026, its lowest level in nearly three weeks, after repeated failures near $87,000. A bond selloff, weaker tech stocks, spot ETF outflows and a long liquidation wave all added pressure. The $80,000 area is now the key support, while $83,000 is the first level bulls need to reclaim.
