Digital Renminbi Cross-Border Connectivity Expands with 39 New Institutions Accessing Digital Currency Platform
The Digital Renminbi International Operation Center announced that by the end of September, 39 new domestic and foreign financial institutions have applied to access the "Digital Currency Cross-Border Settlement Comprehensive Service Platform (CBETS)". Previously, 26 financial institutions had signed contracts. CBETS has launched a new trade settlement and investment financing service called "Digital Currency Cross-Border Payment", focusing on cross-border trade settlement and investment financing. Additionally, the overseas version of the Digital Renminbi app supports wallet registration for phone numbers from over 210 countries and regions. Overseas users coming to China can recharge and achieve online and offline consumption in all scenarios. CBETS has already established interconnectivity with the Hong Kong Fast Payment System (FPS) and the Laos National Payment Network (LAPNet), and is piloting support for cross-border payments in Singapore using Digital Renminbi.
